I can't believe it's already May 1st!! Where did April go? My girls just finished their last class today and now I have to figure out what to do with them all summer. I suppose they can perfect the fine art of hand washing since our dishwasher has been broken for 2 months and instead of buying a new one I went out and got this beauty!
Skate completely broke the lens cover (not the cap but the part that closes automatically when you turn it off) on my Powershot and the store said it would cost more to fix it than the camera was worth. So I upgraded and now I'm trying to figure this lovely monstrosity out.
I've been playing around trying to get used to it (it comes with 18 classes too!) Here's a closeup shot of something we have in abundance in our back yard (besides kids).
But enough about my weeds (and the plants in my back yard)! I've been busy sewing and I made my favorite-so-far apron. I adore it and I'm so in love with Jennifer Paganelli's Pretty Please collection! The small prints are great with everything (I used them for the ties and bias edge on this). That bouquet is from the Flower Power line (just restocked again!). And one of the things I really love about Paula Prass's fabrics is all the little parts you can cut around and use as appliques like these butterflies.
And I feel terribly guilty for going a whole week without a blog post so I'm giving away this wonderful stack of Melissa Averinos' Sugar Snap fabric! These are some odd pieces I have and altogether it adds up to 2 3/4 yards (plus the pretty green velvet ribbon). Nice! Just post a comment telling me what you hope to sew this weekend. I realize you may not get around to it but we have to set goals, don't we?
I've already pre-ordered Patty Young's new line called Mezzanine and I'm placing a pre-order for Paula Prass's Summer Soiree. They are both coming in early July and I'm getting everything!! Gorgeous stuff!! And I put sneak peeks of Bari J's Full Bloom in the store (2 more weeks until it arrives)! And only 12 more days until we leave for Quilt Market in Pittsburgh!! So much great stuff going on!! Have a wonderful weekend!!
