Gonna buy five copies for my mother!
Sorry I didn't post yesterday. I was too busy sobbing with joy. I went over to Heather's to get a copy of The Magazine (they sent her a bunch) and there on the COVER were some of the totes I made!!!! Look!!
Closer!!
Here one even closer! I made 10 in different fabric combinations and they are all just as lovely. I love the design of these totes (and fabric and everything) and I think Heather might be planning a pattern so don't fret. Oh, and see that blue button?? I stitched that on too (well I did).
My personal favorite creation though is this outfit that I made (the pretty pig is Heather's and again, a pattern may be in the works). I've never smocked so fast in my life and I'm so happy to see it in the magazine even though the smocking is hidden behind the pig (dumb pig).
Here's a clearer look at the whole outfit (I snapped a few pics before it left the house).
Closer!!
And my crafty daughter Peety got to be the assistant-to-the-assistant and make necklaces for the chickens. Fun! The pattern for these chicks is in the magazine so you can make some to decorate your Easter table (that's what we're going to do)!
There are alot more pictures in this article worth drooling over but you'll have to go get your own if you want to see them! I adore Mary Engelbreit and they way she uses her magazine to showcase so many creative people and ideas and I'm just thrilled to have played a small part in that. I went to bed last night with a big smile on my face. Thank you Heather!!
Now go get your magazine! Run! Now!

Isn't it the best issue EVER!. I love, love, love it! I'm so glad you finally got your hands on the magazine, now I don't feel so alone out here in Idaho with my lone copy. The totes are the cutest things! I do want the pattern. Cute blue button - I noticed that right away in the pic. Such pretty things! You all are so insiring. Congratulations and thank you!

I picked this up at the grocery store yesterday and I wasn't going to - on a budget and all, but you know why I gave in and bought it? Those darn cute totes on the cover! LOL!! I wonder how many others will get it for the same reason? :)

Great job, guys!!! I just subscribed last week to the magazine. Do you think this will be my first issue? I hope so! Now can I say "I know" someone famous???

Wow Jona-what an accomplishment! Your work is extraordinarily detailed and just plain gorgeous! That outfit is sooo cute! Did that little girl modeling it get to keep it? The detail in the smocking is fabulous. I'm too afraid to try that just yet...
I actually got to see the magazine live online when the ME website sent me the link saying the issue was now available. Looks great on the screen, but I still need to go get a copy! Thanks for sharing!

Yay Jona! I'm so excited and happy for you. You should be endlessly proud of yourself. This is a huge accomplishment and it totally showcases your amazing talent. Congratulations!
I just subscribed to the magazine a few weeks ago but I'm sure I won't get this one so I'll go out to hunt for it tomorrow.

Oh my gosh! I have been reading you and Heather's blogs and you'all have totally inspired me to start sewing! My mom is an amazing seamstress. I wish I would of watched and learned more from her. I gravitated toward her cooking expertise. How inspiring! Thanks for sharing. I am looking for the zine tomorrow!

How absolutely marvelous. Its so wonderful to see your work in print. No less the cover!! I had 2 quilts an issue of a magazine that showcased shops around the US. It was the most spectacular feeling. Seeing your work published and recognized is an amazing accomplishment. Congrats.
