And I'll take two yards of self control.

I went to Joann's today because I needed an invisible zipper for a re-fashion that I'm doing and I need some FrayCheck.  I think the baby ran off with my other bottle because I can't find it anywhere.  He does that a lot.  He left the remote control for the dvd player under the bathroom sink last week so we were forced to make the kids get up and push the buttons until we found it 4 long, arduous days later.

Anyway, I left the fabric store 42.00 later but, darnit, I couldn't help myself.  Look at these cute fabrics:

The top one is very sweet and romantic looking (and 30% off!) and I absolutely adore Tracy Porter's fabric in the lower right (30% off, again!). The striped floral is a real nice lightweight denim (50% off!! gaga!) but my favorite is this darling scotty print (another 50% off I'll take it all thank you!):

Mary would very much approve!

She hates skirts. Can you tell?

Now I know the trick.  Put a horse on anything and she'll wear it.  Happily too.

Check out the bottom of her feet.

The Flu Fairy is visiting. His name is Ralph.

I'm so grateful we had the sense to invest in a carpet shampooer when we got our tax refund last spring.  And I'm grateful that I have a 15 year old who thought it would be fun to try it out on the "stuff" her brother left in the hallway (I thought I was being nice buying them that candy corn at 75% off, I didn't expect to see it again once it had been consumed though).

But enough about that.

Here is something cute.  The little characters remind me of the It's a Small World ride at Disneyland (in a good way though).  I love all the bright, happy colors.  It was published in 1964 which was an okay year (things definitely improved in '65 though).

Here are a couple pages from the inside.  The pictures look kinda grainy to me but it's actually the the way the pages look.

These kitties remind me of Richard Scary's Busytown folks.

Now off to find the Pepto.

Darn kids.  When I told them to share I didn't mean this.

It's me...only thinner, younger and with a cuter apron.

My friend Kelli made this for me!  It's me (after some serious liposuction) trying to decide which fabric to use (if she only knew how much time I spend looking at my fabric going "hmmmm......") while getting ready to whisk up something amazing.  Hehe.

I really like the green capris and I actually have some shoes that resemble these!  Fun!  Thanks Kelli!!

I got nothin'.

My brain is pretty fried this weekend but I am working on some very pretty things.  In fact one of them is so pretty I keep finding an excuse to walk past my sewing room just so I can look at it.  I will show it later (I'm actually having it modeled by a real live child).

Anyway, here's another sweet little thing I made this last spring and it's still one of my favorites.  I took a t-shirt and squared off the neck, stitched some grosgain ribbon on it to stablize it and put this little ruffle in it (sort of a dainty sailor look) and appliqued one of the big roses from the fabric onto the front of the shirt.  I made this twirly skirt (I love hand made bias tape, it just adds that special touch) with a ruffled underskirt to match and then sold it for moolah.  Yeah baby.

This stunning fabric is actually a sheet from Pottery Barn Kids and I had been eying it for some time and then it went on sale and I snapped it up.  It washed up very nicely which is a treat since some sheets start out nice and soft and get really pilly and flimsy after one wash.

Purty.

My red stack

Here's my little stack of red fabric.  It seems quite measly standing here all by itself but I am planning a trip to the fabric store today so maybe I can address that sorry situation.

The nice thing is it will keep me inspired from Christmas through Valentines day.  One always needs red dots, stripes, checks, stars and the real staple: red ticking (good for curtains and pants!).

Ooooh!  It's much more exciting when you consider what can be done with the red fabric plus my new goodies from my trip to SAS Fabric by the Pound (not the Dog Pound, they weigh it).  Yum!
